“Beautiful historic hotel in the middle of restaurants, bars, Powell’s Books and other attractions. It is easy to walk many places. The front desk, doormen, concierge, maids–everyone was very nice!”

"My husband and I have stayed at the Benson twice in the last month. We were nervous about staying anywhere outside of our own home during this time of the pandemic, but it became necessary for us to travel to Portland. From the minute we walked through the doors of the Benson, we felt safe and cared for. The precautions the staff have taken and continue to take, inspire confidence immediately. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, somehow putting everyone at ease around them. The rooms have been immaculate, with explanations of how the staff is ensuring cleanliness and social distancing. The historic and beautiful Benson Hotel, in my mind, has always been an absolute gem in downtown Portland, and now it has been elevated even higher. While many businesses are only serving take-away, there are still plenty of wonderful food options nearby, all can be recommended to guests by staff. I want to say thank you to the staff and management who have somehow created a peaceful and safe space for travelers during this time of pandemic and social revolution. It's truly a testament to each individual who works there."
